American audio equipment manufacturer, Skullcandy, has reportedly launched its latest set of budget-friendly wireless earbuds, effectively marketing them as the affordable yet high-quality alternative to the Apple AirPods.
Priced at just $29.99 / £29.99, the Skullcandy Dime are basically a pair of true wireless earbuds that can by deemed appropriate for users who are looking for budget options or want a backup pair of buds or want to try its form factor for first time.
According to the product specifications, Skullcandy Dime does not offer active noise cancellation, however their noise-isolating design is expected to prevent environmental sound from passing through the buds to some extent ensuring that the sound is not ruined.
These earbuds offer 12 hours of playback, i.e., 3.5 hours from the buds themselves, and another 8.5 hours from the charging case which is almost of same size as a car key. They also provide Bluetooth 5 connectivity, which should enable quick pairing and a stable wireless connection with the paired devices.
Reportedly, the new wireless earbuds come with an IPX4 water and sweat resistance rating. Available in four different colors namely light grey/blue, dark blue/green, true black and dark grey, they are developed taking portability into account.
Sources have suggested that despite their low price, these earbuds are backed by the company’s Fearless Use Promise, which implied that if the users accidentally breaks or loses any of the components, they can buy cases and buds separately from Skullcandy and replace them easily.
Wide range of brands are available on online platforms that offer headphones at significantly low cost. In the past couple of years, there has been a considerable rise in cheap wireless earbuds that provide a decent performance. An example of this is EarFun Air which reportedly offers superior sound quality, connectivity and design at an affordable price. As Skullcandy is a renowned brand, its latest offering is anticipated to match the performance offered by higher-end brands at an economical price.
