Chinese consumer electronics company, OnePlus, has reportedly introduced OnePlus TV 40Y1, its new affordable television, in India. The new television joins its existing range OnePlus TV 32Y1 and OnePlus TV 43Y1 models available in the country.

The OnePlus TV 40Y1 reportedly comes with a 40-inch display implying that it sits between the other two models and is priced accordingly.

Sources have reported that this new television is priced at INR 21,999, while the OnePlus TV 43Y1 and the OnePlus TV 32Y1 are priced at INR 26,999 and INR 15,999 respectively. It is expected to be available on Flipkart starting from May 26, offering a 10% discount to HDFC card users.

The OnePlus TV 40Y1 reportedly runs on the latest version of Android TV 9.0 OS and includes additional features and customizations. It also supports the major OTT platforms along with access to Google Assistant and Play Store for downloading additional apps.

It also offers native file managers, content calendars, picture galleries, etc. Like the two other editions, the TV features a remote control wherein any smartphone can serve as the remote through the OnePlus Connect app. This apparently provides easier browsing using the interface, taking screenshots, easier typing in search bars, etc. The TV can be connected to up to five smartphones.

Common features of the TV include over 100% of the Rec. 709 coverage and 93% of the DCI-P3 color space. It is capable of HDR10, HDR10+, HLG, and covers entire spectrum of high dynamic range certifications. The new OnePlus TV also provides Dolby Audio for surround sound.

Similar to the earlier OnePlus TV Y series, the new TV has two speakers of 10W. Other design elements are a near bezel-less facia having screen-to-body ratio of 95%. It also consists of the Gamma Engine which offers noise reduction, super-resolution, dynamic contrast, MEMC, distortion reduction, anti-aliasing and color space mapping.
